Clients often ask me: what is hypnotherapy? what will happen during the trance part of the session? Hypnotherapy, also referred to as guided hypnosis, is a form of psychotherapy that uses relaxation, extreme concentration, and intense attention to achieve a heightened state of consciousness or mindfulness.
It can help assist weight loss, anxiety, smoking cessation, insomnia, sports performance, weight management, stress eg; exam stress and much more.
Trance simply explained is a very relaxed state, during which your mind can drift and daydream just like it does when for example you drive on a long journey and you forget some of the journey when you reach your destination. You will always remain completely in control, you can come out of hypnotherapy at any time you choose.
Hypnotherapy can support you to take back control of your mind, the solution focused model allows your attention to be focused away from the problem which has negative connotations to the mind, instead this solution focused approach looks at the positive potential outcomes, thereby keeping you focused on what you want to achieve and your desired outcome.
